Our parents were contractors. So were their parents. Contrak exists because we watched them run a real business from a notebook — and we knew software could help without getting in the way.
The story.
We started Contrak after spending a summer in 2020 watching a family plumbing shop miss three jobs in a week — not because they were slow, but because the phone was ringing while the crew was on a ladder, and nobody had a system to catch it.
Our mission is small and sharp: make the tools contractors need feel obvious. If a 58-year-old plumber can't figure a feature out in 30 seconds, the feature is broken — not the plumber.
What we've built.
- 2021
Contrak starts with a notebook and a plumbing crew in Phoenix.
- 2022
First 100 contractors using the app. Most of them know the founders by name.
- 2023
Spanish-first onboarding ships. We open a bilingual support team in Texas.
- 2024
1,000 contractors. We launch the grants program for contractors giving back.
- 2025
AI receptionist ships. 5,000 contractors now run their day on Contrak.
- 2026
12,000 contractors across North America. Same offices. Same people answering the phone.
